Dear Fellow Members,

We hope you and your nearest and dearest are keeping safe and well during these unprecedented times, currently affecting parts of the whole world. These are definitely worrying times for us all but the best way we can contribute is to follow the National guidance we are being given and, where at all possible, stay at home and avoid all unnecessary contact with others.

I wanted to take the opportunity to update you all on the impact this Coronavirus pandemic is having on our Cricket Club here at Littleborough and how members could really help out over the coming weeks and months, at this time of need.

The Government has made the decision that cricket clubs such as ours should close their doors and stop all trading activity and the ECB has made the decision to suspend all junior and senior cricket for the foreseeable future. Therefore, we are not likely to see our Club open or see any cricket being played during the first half of this season, as a minimum, but possibly beyond.

At a time when our function rooms were becoming fuller on a consistent basis and our Club was once again flourishing, many of these events have now had to be cancelled or at least postponed, which will have a significant impact on the financial stability of the Club.

Our Management Committee is constantly looking at ways to reduce and minimise our outgoings and at the same time also ensuring that the Club takes full advantage of any financial benefits the Government is offering, as a means of support. However, we are also committed to trying to support those that work for us on a very regular basis, and are in full agreement that we will continue to fully assist and support them, as much as we possibly can.

In the meantime, we would politely request that all members continue to support your Cricket and Sports Club by renewing their membership as soon as possible please. We would also like to ask playing members to renew their memberships and donation towards the newly purchased Playing kit we have just purchased, on your behalf.

Paying your membership and other fees, becoming a Club Patron or even adding money to your membership cards that can be spent at a later date will considerably help your Club during this time of closure and uncertainty.

If this is something you would like to do, please process this through your bank, using the following details;

Account Number; 53783931

Sort Code; 09-01-28

Adding your name and Club membership number (if known) as a ‘Bank Reference’ would also help.

Our treasurer, Mrs Debbie Hernon is more than happy to assist you with this process should you need it and can be contacted on 07803975088.

Thank you for taking the time to read this communication and for your continued support, we are all in this together and need to make sure that we continue to look after ourselves, each other and stay safe.

Your in cricket

Neil Barnes
