Your memories of your debut for Littleborough?

First game was against Wernerth at home. It was a cold, overcast day but a win and I remember taking a catch on the boundary in pretty much darkness for one of the final wickets, think I also scored 60 odd. Was great to start with a win although we didn’t have a great season.

Your favourite game and why?

Favourite game was a win against Radcliffe when we chased down 250+ at Hare Hill. I pulled my hamstring whilst  fielding(old man injury) but the wicket was a beauty and we all got some runs so was a great day.

Your favourite away ground and why?

Favourite away ground but more the pitch was Middleton. Batting there was a much more like home. Ian Harvey was sub-pro for them but think he was a bit under the weather for that game.

The best professional played against?

Played against some good ones that year-Darren Sammy, Sherwin Campbell and I remember Tino Best telling me he was going to come around the wicket and break my ribs at Crompton. The best though was probably Asif Mujtaba got me out fairly easily and then scored half the runs from memory.

The best amateurs played against?

Best Amateur was Steve Oddy, seemed a bit mad which you need in a fast bowler but very skilful and got me out at least a couple of times. Had good chat too which I always enjoyed.

Favourite on the field memories?

Definitely the win against Radcliffe but there was another really good win against Milnrow when we were gone but Matt Collins bowled the house down to win the game. I didn’t get enough runs that season but managed to score my only hundred against Oldham and a nice sunny day at Harehill so that’s also a great personal memory.

How about off the field?

To be honest we had a ball off the field and all the blokes I played with at LCC were really good fellas. It rained every day in July 2007 so we did spend some quality time together in many local establishments. Always plenty of banter and I look back at my time with club with fondness. I was lucky enough to have my family with me and we made some great friendships with many people involved with the club which still continue.
