Dear Fellow Members/Guests,

Coronavirus – COVID-19

In these unprecedented times we wanted to update you on the planning and implications on your Cricket & Sports Club and how you may be able to assist over the difficult days, weeks and potentially months ahead.

We learnt from the ECB yesterday that all junior & senior recreational cricket, including games & practice is suspended for the foreseeable future. There is a further update expected for the Professional game and the Executive of the Lancashire Cricket League is due to meet on Saturday to consider the thoughts of the clubs should the suspension be lifted during the season. We will keep you informed as and when information is available.

LC&SC are committed to the management and eradication of COVID-19 and although we note currently the advice is not to close your club we have instigated changes to our environment to assist with social distancing for our members and guests as well as ensuring the protection of our staff. Therefore, currently for us, it remains business as usual with no change to our opening hours. This position is being constantly monitored, on a daily basis.

March is the month that preparations for the coming season begin to noticeably pick up, furthermore as the clocks go forward & Easter arrives so does the demand for our function rooms. Understandably many of our members & customers are unsure of the weeks ahead and have been in contact to postpone or cancel their bookings, hopefully we will be discussing new dates for these celebrations, sooner rather than later.

Your Management Committee & Trustees are looking at all our options to reduce our financial commitments over the coming months as well as investigating the financial support announced by the Government, earlier this week. However, we would urge those members whose subscriptions are about to expire, to continue to support your Club as you always have, and get in contact to renew either by visiting the club or if you prefer by calling 07474 088195 and we will process your payment over the phone.

We also have plans to make available, for pick up, family meals such as pies, lasagne etc, to assist with the availability of quality produce for those who may find it difficult to get access to produce from our shops/supermarkets. Further details on this will follow shortly.

Please get in touch if you feel, as a valued member of this very worthwhile institution, that there is anything you can do to support your Club further, at these unexpected times.

Stay safe, look after yourselves, your family and the rest of the Littleborough community.

Neil Barnes
