As 2022 rapidly approaches, on behalf of Littleborough Cricket and Sports Club, I would like to wish all our Trustees, Patrons, Life Members, Committee Members, Sponsors, Bar Manager, Groundsman, Chef, Staff, Members, Volunteers, Colleagues and Friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

2021 has been another interesting and exciting year for us all at Littleborough Cricket Club, both on and off the pitch and we couldn’t do any of it without you all, so thank you very much for your continued support of the community facilities that we strive to provide, improve and maintain.

You may have already noticed some of the improvements that have taken place and continue to take place around the Club and its grounds and we have more improvements planned for both inside and outside in the not too distant future.

Please feel free to contact either myself or any of our Committee Members if you feel there are suggestions for improvements that you can and want to make.

Our junior players have been busy practicing through the winter months and the Club is extremely proud that we can provide them this opportunity along with the provision of high class coaching to ensure that they appropriately develop their game.

2022 will see our senior players starting their practice and coaching programmes and we are delighted that we have re-signed Travis as our senior professional again for the 2022 season.

It has been an unusual time for the Club’s governance arrangements and although we only held our last AGM (for 2020) a number of months ago, we, once again, will need to hold an AGM (for 2021) early in the New Year, so please do your best to join us, it would be great to see you there.

So let’s all look forward to a productive 2022, both on and off the field, and to continuing to pull together to ensure that this fabulous institution of ours remains at the heart of our community.

Please take care with your families and friends over the festive season and beyond, as we all know the impact the new variant of COVID-19 (Omicron) is having, as it continues to rapidly spread across the country. However, most of all, stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Yours in Cricket,

 Neil Barnes
