Littleborough made the long journey to Kendal in the quarter final of the Lancashire Cup but returned home empty handed due to a fine batting performance by home professional Eldine Baptiste.
After being inserted by the home side Littleborough lost Whiteley early for 6 but a fine century partnership of 106 by Dearden and Fitton gave the visitors a solid platform to build a large total.
When Dearden 56 was dismissed by Baptiste at 118 the momentum swung towards the fielding side as Littleborough struggled to once again build partnerships. Fitton depart at 155 for a fine 68 and the innings subsided somewhat as they ended on 194-6 from their allotted 40 overs.
Littleborough needed early wickets but managed only one. A spectacular opening stand of 177 between Mawson and Baptiste was ended when Baptiste was caught by Whiteley off Schofield for 106 which included eleven boundaries and three sixes.
Mawson 73* and Hunte 8* comfortably saw Kendal to 198-1 to complete a nine wicket victory and Littleborough faced the long journey back to Hare Hill empty handed.
