Chris Dearden and Dexter Fitton missed out in their bid to score tons in three consecutive matches when Littleborough entertained Walsden on Sunday.

But they never had a chance as Littleborough were only chasing 172 for victory and did it with only two wickets down. Dearden made 30 but Fitton remained unbeaten on 67. Whiteley made 42 and Gar Hunter 26* as the home team coasted home on 175-2

Earlier Walsden slumped to 171-6 but it started brightly with Eastwood and Hooson adding 78 for the opening stand. Hooson was the first to depart as he edged a Fitton delivery to wicketkeeper Jones for 34. After Hooson’s departure all the incoming batsmen seemed to struggle with only Horsford 26 offering any resistance.

Eastwood departed at 122 for a well made 59 but with his departure any hopes of a large first innings total disappeared as he trudged off the field.
